Video Interaction Guidance

A strengths-based approach for parents

If you ever wonder whether you're doing the right things as a parent or feel uncertain about your child's behaviour, Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) can offer valuable insights. This approach helps you recognise and build on the positive parenting skills you already have, helping you have even more enjoyable and meaningful moments with your child.

Through VIG, we focus on highlighting your strengths, showing you what’s working well, and exploring what you can do more of to support for your child.

National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines recommend VIG for support around children’s attachment (2015), for children with autism (2013) and within the guidelines for children's social and emotional wellbeing (2012).
