A bit about me...

I am a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC; PYL039054)

I am a clinical psychologist with a specialist interest in working with children, young people and their families. In my independent practice I most often work with families when things are feeling difficult or overwhelming. Some of the reasons families have worked with me include: support to understand and manage feelings of anxiety, depression or frustration; difficulties with emotion-regulation; and difficulties within family relationships, including parent-infant and parent-child relationships.

I have worked across a range of NHS settings within Clinical Psychology, including parent-infant mental health, early intervention for children with additional needs and child and adolescent learning disability services.

If you feel you or a family member might benefit from my services please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Working together

My approach to working with children and young people and their families/carers involves being creative and adapting the evidence-base to fit the needs of the people I am working with.

I involve the people around the child or young person as much as possible during our work together as I think that it is important to understand how the difficulties are being experienced by everyone and what else is happening around the difficulties. Working alongside, or with, family members also supports the continued practice and repetition of new skills and strategies, even after we have said goodbye.

Understanding what is happening

I aim to develop an understanding of difficulties by thinking about what is going on around a person, including at school, home, with friends and family and the wider community as well as social and cultural influences. I also draw upon parent’s relationships with their children to support the movement towards meaningful changes.
